Vanessa Mazur knows she’s doing the right thing. She shouldn’t feel bad for quitting. Being an assistant/housekeeper/fairy godmother to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans and none of them include washing extra-large underwear longer than necessary.
But when Aiden Graves shows up at her door wanting her to come back, she’s beyond shocked.
For two years, the man known as The Wall of Winnipeg couldn’t find it in him to tell her good morning or congratulate her on her birthday. Now? He’s asking for the unthinkable.
What do you say to the man who is used to getting everything he wants?
I was in the mood for a long tortuous romance story but one with an actual story line and I wanted a story where the main characters hated each other or didn’t like each other or didn’t get along. Well with this book I got everything I asked for. This is a step out of my usual, this is an adult romance book.
Here we have Vanessa. Aiden-The-Wall-of-Winnipeg Graves’s personal assistant. She is the super of all super assistants who goes above and beyond the call of duty as far as assistants go. She knows her client well and does whatever she can to please and keep her job. She is what I wish people in our society would do now instead of complain and whine for more money. No, this girl knows how to work and has goals and will sacrifice to achieve those goals including with putting up with crap from her employers. When her boss finally goes too far she has had enough and quits, she will figure out another way to achieve her goals and finally do what she’s always wanted to do. She’s pure awesome-sauce. I love it because how she is first portrayed is a little overweight, but pretty in the normal sense of the word. When she comes back into the picture she has lost weight and dyes her hair different awesome colors which made me want to dye my hair!
Aiden- pretty cool guy but completely not what you expect. The author does a great job of character development with his character. I really enjoyed that this book took so long and showed me the development with his character in particular. I loved it. I really enjoyed how the author made him look to me as a reader one way and then come to find out he wasn’t completely what I thought he was. I loved it. He was just a great character in general.
The side characters were brilliant to bring in that added extra color and spice to the story. Aiden’s roommate and publicist.
This story was overall so well written I’m interested in other books that this author has written.
Sexual Content: heavy (I feel like I need to explain this. There is nothing really except some things mentioned until the very end. Like, the last few pages, SERIOUSLY! Then you get graphic scenes.)
Violence: mild/moderate (I think more mild I can’t recall anything really)
