He can stand on his own for just who he is and why he is on my auto-buy list. He’s just brilliant and phenomenal! I really don’t know what I could possibly say that people don’t already know. His Percy Jackson, Kaine & Heroes of Olympus will open your mind to the great stories of Greek, Roman, & Egyptian mythology. I literally read Percy Jackson with a College Greek Mythology book so I could reference all the back stories of all the Greek mythology mentioned in that book and plan to do the same with his other work.

There are a few authors that I would just automatically buy from because I’ve loved their books so much, it was actually really hard to stick to just 10 but here are a few of them, not in any particular order:
I fell in love with her work when I was a teenager and read Daughter of the Forest, a retelling of a Hans Christian Anderson story, and it was brilliant. Her writing is beautiful, full of imagery and substance. Her male characters are absolutely swoon-worthy and they are GOOD GUYS! I’ve read several of her many books and they all have been impressive. Some I’ve liked more than others but for the most part I would recommend her books to anyone. Haven’t been disappointed when reading any of her books.
Books I’ve Read: Daughter of the Forest, Hearts Blood, Shadowfell, Son of the Shadows
2. Kasie West
I just love her books. Period. They are simple, sweet, cheesy, fun. I don’t ever have to worry about content when it comes to her stories. Plus she’s just pure fun. There hasn’t been a book of hers that I haven’t liked and they are pretty quick reads. She’s a great writer in the sense of simple pleasures that are very well written and I have enjoyed every one I’ve picked up.
Books I’ve Read: The Distance Between Us, The Fill-In Boyfriend, On the Fence
I’ve read ALL of her books and have LOVED THEM ALL. Her latest trilogy, The Winner’s Curse, is on my absolute favorites list. Her ability to write a story that has you squeezing the book tight while you read every word and every line so you don’t miss anything is what I love best about her. My heart strings have been pulled with her latest books that I’m just dying to know what will happen next. Her books have all been clean and fun to read with great twists and turns that I just love.
Books I’ve Read: The Shadow Society, The Winner’s Trilogy
4. Jennifer A. Nielsen
Her Ascendance Trilogy will blow you away. If you have not read The False Prince then you need to just buy it today. Those voices were so alive and the characters so amazing and well written that I would own anything she wrote. That trilogy alone will forever be on my favorites list. The twists and turns of her stories were beyond fun and I had no way of knowing who or what would be the good/bad guy and the plot of her story were unforgettable. Being able to write a book people of ALL ages, male or female, would enjoy makes her amazing.
Books I’ve Read: The Ascendance Trilogy
5. Kerstin Gier
I have read all of her books and have loved every single one. Her imagination is riveting and story telling has been so fun to read. Sadly she writes in German and we English-only readers have to wait for translation while those who read German get to enjoy all the books that are already out. I love her story telling. Her books are always so full of humor, adventure, romance and imagination. I have been so impressed with all her books that I will own anything she writes.
Books I’ve Read: Ruby Red Trilogy, Dream a Little Dream
Is there really any surprise that this woman is on my auto-buy? Her writing and story telling is mind-blowing. Being able to take an old story and completely make it her own is what makes her stand out. The fact that each book has it’s own story which is then incorporated in the overall plot is what makes her so beloved by everyone who has read her work. She’s utterly brilliant.
Books I’ve Read: Cinder Series
7. Julie Kagawa
I have really enjoyed every book I’ve picked up by her. Which have been several. And I own just about all of her books! I was sucked into her world when she wrote The Iron Fey series and couldn’t put those books down! I haven’t been able to find a faerie/fey story to match the imagination that went into that series. I have enjoyed her other books outside of this series and haven’t found any of them that I hated! Her writing is good and haven’t had an issue with her world-building or character development. Overall she is just a fun storyteller!
Books I’ve Read: The Iron Fey Series, The Lost Prince, Talon, The Immortal Rules
Books I’ve Read: The Percy Jackson Series, The Lost Hero & The Son of Neptune
Here is another great story teller with absolute swoon-worthy romance. I have read everything she’s written and own every single one of her books. I am a sucker for anything mythology related and her first trilogy (Starcrossed) was everything I could possibly want in a story. I love her ability to incorporate a bit of the contemporary world to impossibilities such as mythology and parallel universes. I have yet to be disappointed in her books and I have loved everything she’s done thus far.
Books I’ve Read: Starcossed Trilogy, Trial by Fire
10. Beth Revis
Beth got me to really fall in love with science-fiction. She has written books that have made readers think and see unimaginable possibilities. Her ability to create an amazing story within a tiny structure was fabulous. Writing a sci-fi/dystopian was even better. Then she wrote a thriller that you could apply to what is going on in today’s society and she still makes it completely enjoyable. She’s brilliant and I will buy anything she writes.
Books I’ve Read: Across the Universe Trilogy, The Body Electric
