This has to be my ALL TIME FAVORITE retelling story. It’s a retelling of a Brother’s Grimm story, where a girl who has 6 brothers and are put under an evil spell where her brothers are turned to swans and if she wants to save them she has to knit them shirts made of this horrible plant that has terrible thorns/thistles and she can’t utter a word till the task is done.
SWOON WORTHY ROMANCE!!! This has been my favorite since I was a teenager. A book I’ve read MANY times and still has my heart racing.
This book, is the PERFECT pick-me-up kind of book. It’s Levine’s BEST work. Her retelling of Cinderella in the most adorable way possible. I have loved this book since I was a teenager.
I HATED the movie, so if you haven’t seen it, DON’T! this is just a simple MUST OWN I love this book. It always makes me happy when I read it.
This is a hidden treasure. This book is a retelling of a Nordic legend “East of the Sun, West of the Moon.” I loved this book when I read it, because I hadn’t read anything like it at the time.
Where a girl follows a polar bear who promises her family riches if she will accompany him to his castle. There she finds out that the bear is a prince under an enchantment by an evil troll queen and it’s only she who can save him.
This is a retelling of Robin Hood, told from a different perspective. Scarlet, where Scarlet is actually a girl.
Now this is a pretty new book, and it’s based off an OLD classic. The Scarlet Pimpernel. I read the classic tale when I was a teen and have always loved the 1982 TV movie with Jane Seymour.
I really liked this version because it was something new in the retelling department and I felt the author did a fantastic job of making it her own.
This is a very unique author. This book is a retelling of Jane Austen’s Persuasion. It’s very unique and I’m not going to lie takes a bit to understand at first because the author created such a unique background and world. I just loved this version of the story! Great for anybody, clean, fun and of course a great retelling! Who doesn’t love a good Jane Austen retelling!
This is a Beauty and the Beast retelling and it’s dark and creepy and I liked it. It was something new so see and I really enjoyed it.
This is not a well known book, which is really sad because I loved it! As you can tell it’s a Snow White story!
Now I’m not going to lie but it has a lot of the Lunar Chronicles feel to it. Regardless I loved it for it’s own story. This was a sweet, clean, fun story that was unique so if you’re a fan of the Lunar Chronicles and haven’t read this one you should check it out.
I was very surprised when I picked this book up because I had no idea what it was about. I just kept hearing about it on goodreads and twitter by many big authors that I follow.
So I finally picked it up! LOVED IT! It’s a 1,000 and 1 nights retelling! which I hadn’t read before! I felt the back and side stories were great as well as the whole romance and mystery behind it all. I couldn’t put this book down! AH! so good!
Is it any wonder why these books are on my list? I mean really? Do I REALLY need to explain??? these are simply. Amazing. Done. End of story. Can’t wait for Winter! AH!
