FINALLY the final installment to The Malediction Trilogy is here and it’s time to spread the news to all those people who can’t stand to wait for books to come out and only read a series when it’s complete. Here are some reasons why you should check out this series.
The world building- The descriptions and idea of this whole story is amazing. The world that Jensen created about a kingdom kept trapped in a side of a mountain that was enchanted to keep them from ever leaving it’s dark caves. Nothing was too overly descriptive and yet with just the right amount to give you a completely clear image of what the author wanted you to see. It’s beautiful, dark and brilliant.
The overall general idea- Seriously, it’s a story about trolls. No, not your typical story of trolls staying under bridges that wait for three goats to pass by. No. I’m talking about trolls that are part of the fae. That have magic and some hideous and some not. There is a king who is a tyrant who will try anything to break the curse and get his people out-including kidnapping a girl and try to force her to marry the prince. These are NOT weak trolls with weak magic. No, they’ve got some serious magic going on that makes this all the more creative and unique as a story in general! There are witches, curses, magic, adventure all to be had within this trilogy.
The romance- Who DOESN’T enjoy a good romance when reading a book? seriously! This has a beautifully written romance that will leave you breathless and wanting more! I am extremely picky about my romance and this definitely left me wanting more and thought it was just overall perfect. It didn’t take over the story even though it was a major part it didn’t overwhelm and leave me rolling my eyes. It was clean and sweet and I just loved every minute of reading it.
Everything else- These books have it all. Romance, amazing writing, good storytelling, pace, adventure, mystery, political intrigue, hardships, great character development, twists and turns you don’t see coming etc. You’ll feel yourself drawn into the world and story as if you are actually there. You’ll find yourself not wanting to put the books down or immediately grab the next book once you’re finished with one. You’ll find yourself holding onto the book and feeling your heart beat with the adventure, pain, anger, ache, hardships, and beautiful scenes throughout the whole book.
Overall-you must read it. you must own it. 😉
