Cover Thoughts: Meh, it’s not my favorite, but it’s not hideous either. It’s slightly eye catching but could be better I think.
Starting over sucks.
When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring… until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something… unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don’t kill him first, that is.
I really enjoyed this book, I enjoyed the aspect that it is about ALIENS!!! WAHOO!!! hahaha ok, ok, seriously it was a fun way (not in the least bit new concept) to bring on the aliens!
Katy-one of 3 of the main characters, I like her sass and the way she can just stick it to people but at the same time a girl like everybody else when they first move to a new town and place and have to start fresh. I like how she isn’t a perfect 0 size jean girl and LOVES to get her hands in the dirt and get sweaty and dirty. She has normal teenage feelings and does things that teenagers too. Very realistic.
Daemon-is the HOT alien! haha really?! absolutely! wow, that sounds silly but anyway. Daemon at first meeting is a bit of a douche canoe and I liked that because Katy doesn’t put up with it, and knowing me I love romances where they are rude and sarcastic to each other but can’t stay away from each other!
Dee-the girl EVERYONE wishes they had as a best friend. Dee is just the prettiest, sweetest girl on the planet. You just like her from the start.
Overall the book was not cheesy when it came to the aspects of aliens, the romance was fun a bit on the heavy side full of sexual frustrations.
