While spacing out in chemistry class, Lily scribbles some of her favorite song lyrics onto her desk. The next day, she finds thatsomeone has continued the lyrics on the desk and added a message to her. Intrigue!
Soon, Lily and her anonymous pen pal are exchanging full-on letters—sharing secrets, recommending bands, and opening up to each other. Lily realizes she’s kind of falling for this letter writer. Only, who is he? As Lily attempts to unravel the mysteryand juggle school, friends, crushes, and her crazy family, she discovers that matters of the heart can’t always be spelled out…
Is there anything Kasie West can’t do? I have read all of her contemporary books and have given them all 5/5 stars. I just love them! They are perfect in every way.
So this is an adorable book about misunderstandings, prejudgments, pride, love, forgiveness all surrounding the awesome cuteness of a secret pen-pal and passing of notes in school.
How does that even work? imagine two people who absolutely hate each other write each other notes during class without even knowing they are writing to each other? well will it make more sense if I tell you that they are in different periods?
So Lily a very unique girl who loves music and writes her own songs and is a self-taught guitarist she also is someone who holds a grudge and totally misunderstands and misinterprets a certain someone for years. Silly right? but not altogether un-plausible. While bored in Chemistry class she writes a line of a song she loves on the top of her desk and the magic begins…
When someone responds with the next line to the song it creates a friendship over time and letters.
This is seriously such a cute story and my heart strings were jumping and dancing and I had all those bookish feels it was just wonderful and I loved how these letters helped two people find themselves and each other through them. It was just an overall feel good book and so perfectly well written with how some teenagers really are! It was so fun.
